“No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee.”

Soft-Focused Memories

I had the chance to go to Mackinac Island with my girlfriend, her mom and brother, so I took it(thanks!). It was neat, I hadn't been up there since I was a kid, so it was part getaway, part re-visitation. We got to see some things I hadn't seen before, too. It's late, so I'm just gonna dump the pictures here a minute.

The weather was good, the island was busy, but not too busy. The cabin we stayed in was beautiful. I brought home like three pounds of fudge. I don't think any of the pictures need much explanation, at least not any that I can offer, but the comment section is open if you want to interrogate me a little.

Depending on the screen you're using, you may not be able to tell, but I'm still missing focus on a lot of these shots, particularly the ones with the fish-eye lens. I'll have to keep working on it. I think it's partly my shutter settings, and partly just rushing too much.

I have photos from several other trips, I'm going to try and post about them in reverse chronological order, see if my memories get more soft-edged like my photos.
